Tie of the Year?

While I was in New York for a few days in January, I saw some variation of this tie just about everywhere I looked. I knew I'd have to get one. And sure enough, J. Press offered this specimen in their Spring lineup. I ordered it as soon as I saw it on the website. Even a trad can be in style, I guess.

And yes, I did rip off Chops on the photo.

i'm not in a position to dispute the tie's ownership.

Long-wing,

I too own your tie, and your shirt and apparently your blazer. And that photo copy is a little too spot on not to be mine. Are you here when I'm not?

anon, be assured that the highlighting of a product on the LST blog guarantees excellence.

I would like to know how often you wear a blazer. I'm a four day/week man myself, usually with white shirt and a tie similar to those you linked--anon got my curiosity up.

Welcome anonymous commenter,

If you are used to very fine ties then you may not be too impressed by what J. Press offers. I think they are not at all a bad deal, especially when they go on sale (early June). The quality of the fabric is pretty much identical to what you will find at J. Crew, so if you think you can stand that give Press a try. Most of their ties are made in England, Ireland, or the US but strangely some of the more expensive ones are made in China. Also, they roll out a new lineup each season and there are always a few surprises. I may be grabbing one of those sunflower ties when they go on sale.

stay in touch,
lw

Chops, In SS the blazers get worn 3 or 4 times a week. Less in FW due to tweeds. White shirts get worn more in summer. I do seem to need a variety of shirts so that I won't completely bore even myself.
